GT5
« on: November 24, 2010, 12:26:04 PM »
There is a review on IGN..

haven't had time to read it, but the score is a bit less then everybody expected. (i kinda saw it coming, japanese gaming industry lost it a couple of years ago)

 :dizzy:

It's way way lower then F3.

opinions please!

Havent played it yet but as far Ive seen and read its all hype.

There are 200 so called "premium" cars and the rest 800 is standard cars ripped straight off from GT4... the models are bad, very bad some times. And its only on the premuim cars you have interior, damage, improved physics and so on.

Body upgrades and wheels. You only can change wheels and bodykits on the premuim cars... so some of the reviewers ended up selling off all the non premium cars and just use the premium ones.

Paint. To paint a car you have to unlock a paint and that paint is for SINGLE use only... so you cant paint the car in whichever colour you want.

So basically if you play GT5 you only want to use only 200 cars instead of 1000. :prrrt:

And some pics

A premium car...

... non premuim car.

There are a TON of former Forza Teams that basically left saying they were going to the better racing sim.....only to find out no leaderboards  :crybaby:

I was going to pick up a PS3 and this game, but probably will wait until more reviews come out.

I watched the video review on IGN, and gotta say it looks impressive, especially that little scene at LeMan's at night.  And I'm really jealous of the snow conditions and rally racing.  The scenery and backdrops look great.

But after 5 years, it still looks unpolished and unfinished.  Those non-premium cars are what I buy these racing sims for.  I could give a fuck about a F1 or Nascar ride.... its the Beemers and classic muscle that I want to drive... and those cars look like shit, especially after seeing motors pics, thats just aweful.

PS3, pffft for sure.  No game is worth 500 bucks.

Speaking of Porsche's... I just read that there is not a single Porsche in GT5.  How is that even possible.

that non-premium car looked like it was ripped directly from the first GT

took them 5 years to rip cars from preceding GT's, guess they are trying to show a timeline of graphics enhancements all in one game

pretty much just made Forza the new king of racing when it comes to overall appeal with the AH, SF, customizing, LB's and community/T10 (even though we know the real truth about the community/T10)

now T10 needs to make sure when they drop whatever it is in 2011 it better be something that blows the racing community away. if not then the debate on GT vs. Forza will continue cause the truth has just been revealed (even thought the PS3/GT fanboys won't admit it) in the pics by motor and the features it lacks as stated by Joe. no longer is GT the leader of the racing genre

Those are not Porsches per se. They are too modified to be allowed called Porsche. Ruf its own brand mutch like Alpina is to BMW. But never the less, those are very awesome cars! :specky: :hihi:

The pressure sensitivity can't possibly be as good as the xbox's controller. I'd imagine for a racing sim, this is a HUGE downer.
